Tractor Talk Q&A – Our Equipment, Your Questions

Buying a compact tractor is a significant decision and investment – one that should come with questions and research. But how do you know if you’re getting the right answers to your questions? Where do you get the information you need? Get some of your answers below from leading equipment experts.

Q: How do I choose between the CT1025 and CT2025 tractors?

A: A lot of the decision comes down to cost and size. Those tractors have the same horsepower, but the CT2025 is a much larger machine, so you’ll need to consider where you’re going to store it. If you’re not worried about where to put it and you’re willing to invest a bit more, we recommend the CT2025. It’s a bigger, more capable machine.

Q: How do I find the right tractor for me aside from going to a dealer?

A: With 20 models of Bobcat® tractors, there’s really something for everyone. When determining which tractor is best for you, it comes down to what you want to accomplish with it. Beyond what you want to do now, think about what you might want to do one day. As James said, “I’ve never had someone regret buying the next model up, and I’ve never had someone regret buying a cab.”

Q: How long does it take to get a tractor if a dealer doesn’t have it in stock?

A: This past year had its challenges for so many of us, but we continue to strive for efficiency in our product fulfillment. If your dealership doesn’t currently have the tractor you’ve ordered in stock, our goal is to get the tractor to you within 60 days.

Q: What type of tractor is the best for about 5 acres of property?

A: As always, there are several factors to consider, including your geographical location and budget. If you’ll be using it in a variety of weather conditions, we recommend the CT2535 with the cab. If you want an open station, we suggest the CT2040. And if you want something a bit more affordable, check out the CT2025.

Q: What range of compact tractors does Bobcat offer?

A: To answer this question, we’ll give you a little insight into how we name our tractors. First, we have four platforms: 1000, 2000, 4000 and 5000. The first number tells you what platform the machine is. The next number will either be a 0 or a 5. If it’s a 0, the tractor is an open station tractor. If it’s a 5, then it’s a cab tractor. The last two digits are the tractor’s engine horsepower. Across the board, though, each platform and machine offers a lot of power and capability depending on what you want to accomplish with it.
